Jack was sitting on the lone couch located in the first level of the Hub, staring straight ahead and seeming just a bit out of it. His head kept nodding forward, as if he was dozing off, only to jerk back up as he forced himself awake.

He needed sleep, and he needed it soon, but for that he also needed access to the his living quarters; he'd been getting a bit better at the nightmares, improving just a little bit at a time, but for some reason his bed and the couch in the office seemed to be the only places he could relax enough to really sleep. Everywhere else he'd wake up screaming almost as soon as he'd dozed off, but those two places had become familiar enough that he felt almost...safe.

He glanced at his office door again, glared, and muttered something under his breath that sounded a bit like 'See if I let him back in my bed once he unlocks it'

Jack had gone a little too long without sleep.

Ianto, on the other hand, was seated at Jack's desk sorting through his files. Apparently even with two Ianto's Jack was incapable of keeping his desk organised. It was more a force of habit than anything, and Ianto had learned a long time that if he kept himself busy he didn't have to think about whatever was bothering him. In this case; Jack. Or rather the past two times he'd seen him.

He still maintained he had every right to be angry at Jack for betraying his trust, but the more he thought about it the more he realised that he'd done exactly the same.

If he was honest that wasn't something he could bring himself to think about. That wasn't something he was sure he would be for a while.

Walking up those stairs was--trips to the plane included--one of the weirdest experiences of her life. She ran her hand along the wall that alternated between cold concrete and metal plating, sometimes seeing dirty tile, sometimes concrete, sometimes seeing double, and never seeing the same thing for more than half a minute. She blink, starting to feel nauseated, and then she was at the top of the stairs, and a rusty green door barred her way.

And now her gun came out, safety off, pointed at the top stair. She tested the door, felt it give. She braced her shoulder against it, and slammed her way in to whatever waited on the other side.

Jack jumped as the door leading to the basement of the Hub burst open, hand flying to his holster as he stood, standard issue Torchwood pistol in hand. He actually had to blink a few times to make sure he was seeing things correctly and it wasn't just exhaustion, eyes now focused on the intruder.

"Misaki?"

Ianto heard the basement door slammed open and frowned as he looked up. He hadn't heard Jack going down to the basement, and couldn't see any reason why he'd be going down there at this time.

He was almost tempted to investigate. Tempted enough to start to stand, before sitting again. Opening the door meant having to face Jack, and the odds of the Hub having an intruder were low enough staying where he was wasn't much of a risk. If the worst came to the worst he always had his gun.
