Busy vs. Active

Due to a conversation I had in my dream last night, I have a question for everyone.

What are your definitions of busy and of active?

My friends are always saying “I know your busy and all….” however I don’t see myself as busy, but rather living an active life. There are days that I am busy but in an overall look at thing I don’t see myself as “busy

I think in my brain they are fairly synonomous...no, I take that back. "busy", by my definition, means having lots of stuff going on, constantly scheduled, need to make plans several weeks in advance because the upcoming weeks are already full with things to do, juggling a lot of things, etc...
"active", to me, takes on a very physical meaning. if you lead an active lifestyle, the things that occupy your time are athletic, energetic, vigorous, etc...
I think it comes down to the types of activites that take up your time. "busy" is a more general qualifier, "active" says you do a lot of physical activity.
I don't know if that made any sense at all, it might be a bit circular, but it's the closest i can come to finding words to what's in my head. ;)

I second her definition. I feel that often I'm more busy than I am active. I think for me "busy" implies obligations (that suck up my time and resources) and "active" is more when I'm doing things specifically that make myself happy and bring me ultimately more energy and revitalize my spirits.

That makes sense. and, they're not mutually exclusive. One can be active without being busy, while one can also be busy without being active. ;)

Well thank you sir! I'm going to try and be her for Halloween this year (depends on the $ to build the costume). If not this year then text....or some year following. But I will be her! BTW....we need to talk about a visit to you in the fall. You still up for us crashing the faire?
