Rest? What's that? Sure didn't get it yesterday at work. Nothing like a snowstorm to make people brave slippery roads and whiteout conditions to get a movie. We got just over 2 feet in 48 hours! Today I will stay mostly on the couch in front of a couple movies and watch hubby dig out the driveway. He said there's 3 feet of snow blocking access to the shovel!
***passes over a thermal full of nice, hot tea*** Get better soon!
I'm assuming that you're having the same insane winter weather that my dad is getting in Oakville. He needs to do "his daily walk" to combat the hardening of the blood vessels in his legs and he hasn't been able to walk outside for weeks (thank heavens he can stroll inside through the underground swimming pool and party room complex that joins the two condo buildings, or he'd be screwed). Dad says no one can walk on the sidewalks and you have to walk on the roads, which have been substantially narrowed thanks to all the snow. Even the local crappy mall, where you only go if you're very local or very desparate, runs out of parking spaces regularly because of the snowy piles. That last sentence sounds painful, actually.
I tell you, I don't miss Canadian winters. Not at all.
No, you wouldn't miss this, that's for sure. Ottawa got 65 cm over Friday and yesterday. Another 22.1 cm this winter and we hit the record. Not something I think we should be aiming for. Thank God I don't work today! Andy says there's 3 feet of snow blocking him from getting at the shovel. He went out about an hour ago and haven't seen him since. If he's not in by suppertime I'll get dressed and go searching. :)
Sorry I didn't get down to the Greyhound station when you were here, but even sorrier that you're sick. Take care and feel better soon! (Glad you had a good time, though).
Yes, but is such an occurence likely in April? Here it is clear but below freezing (typical mid-winter weather for this relatively balmy area of North America that usually gets little snow), but I have some faith it will not be this cold in a month...
Well, yes, I have to admit that spring is possible in April. :) I do recall it snowing here as late as the long weekend in May, but that is definitely a rare occurence!
Oh, but I'm longing for a day when I don't need boots and coat to go to work! :D
Feeling somewhat better today. No aided by the rush of people in the store Friday and Saturday. What is with people that makes them need to go out and rent movies in the middle of a snowstorm?
Btw, still want to you do a presentation or lead a round table at CA about how you think the series failed!
I've been thinking about it-- there is something terribly amusing about the idea. I wonder though how one would structure it. I mean there are so many things that could be mentioned: shipping, lack of editing, questionable character arcs, loose ends, addendum in the form of interview, the fact that half of book consisted of camping, etc.
It's such a mishmash, though, I'm a little daunted at the idea of having to string in together into something coherent. On the other hand it's be pretty darn easy to solicit participation, eh?
I considered that it might be a bit of a mishmash, which is why I think it might work as a round table instead of an outright presentation. Of course, if you're more comfortable with a straight presentation, that's cool, too! But, yeah, should be pretty easy to solicit participation. :)

Am feeling somewhat better now, having barely survived the rush at work brought on by weather o'doom. :D

On the plus side...it is March! Even in that frozen wasteland you call home, spring is on its way, isn't it? :)

Spring? What's that? No sign if it coming here anytime soon. Not after the 2 feet of snow we just got! *sigh*

What's the due date again for proposals?
