The fight scenes were great. The boneless slide off the edge of the ride and onto the groud after Eliot got knocked out... dang that did funny things to my insides.

But then I died a little at the end. Eliot gets beat to hell, can barely walk and no one does anything! Not even a worried glance his way. And the whole 'I hired a nurse' thing. Ergh. Such an excuse to get him out of the way for couples chat. I don't want to see that happening all the time! (though I did lol over Hardison's 'I don't think she's registered.')

Oh my, yes.

Yeah, it really took something away from an otherwise amazing episode. This could have been such a great team moment, but they hand-waved Eliot's injuries and sent him out the door. Ridiculous. I was hoping that finally, Eliot might rate a bit of attention from the team, but no.

When I realized that no one was going to do anything for him I was *thisclose* to trying to claw through the screen and being all 'It's okay, bb. I won't let you pass out from that probable concussion!'

Yep yep, I agree with everything you and sheryden said and don't even need to say more. Y'all seem to be on my wavelength :)

In my head she is actually a nurse/doctor/radiologist and was taking him away to make sure he was alright. I see this scene where she's all 'sure, go enjoy the gloat with your friends, but you got ten minutes and then I'm coming in to get you and if you *dare* touch any alcohol I'll beat your ass to the ground, concussion or no concussion'... or something like that.

That works for me. I think I'm going to have to write a follow-up and create an imaginary history for her. I'm glad we at least got a name. :D

Agreed. Totally. I believe that Eliot totally isn't up for sex now, and that he knows it.

I'm sorry, did you move into my head, channel my thoughts and give them words? I think we should open the anti-cutesy-couple-scenes-club or something ( ... )

I'm right there with you. This back and forth between the couples and the way they sent him off so Parker and Hardison would banter makes it feel like the writers see Eliot as being in the way. This is not a couples show. It's a team show. Why couldn't they have ended on team.

They still could have had Parker and Hardison have their nauseatingly cute conversation up in Nate's apartment. It could have been quite good, actually. Eliot could have been sitting in between them, propped up with an ice pack, and they could have been arguing while tending to him. Or something.

But I still don't see why we can't get through one episode with the focus being on Eliot or the team rather than one of the couples.

Did you see how he was walking, all not straight? I was so expecting someone to help Eliot. Then he goes past Nate and again, nothing?

Yes! I kept waiting for Nate to reach out, but he didn't, and I was like REALLY? Even Hardison, a born nurturer couldn't offer him an arm?

The dilemma with having a five-person crew - one will be in the way. Honestly, the ruined so much for me with the ending ( ... )

I think that as a five-person crew, they work well, and no one needs to be in the way. The problem is that they've taken that five-person crew and turned it into two couples and Eliot. And that what makes him a fifth wheel. They are persisting in focusing so much on the couples aspect that he gets shortchanged.

Yeah, I was disappointed that at least someone didn't come over and make sure he was okay. When he clearly wasn't okay.

he chick was a friend who is driving Eliot to his private doctor, and his personal sense of pride wouldn't let him admit weakness to the team. *nods*

Word. Although in my head, the chick IS his private doctor and understands his pride issues.

I agree with you on the likes and dislikes of this episode.

The ending really bothered me, for pretty much the same reasons you pointed out. It honestly felt odd to me that they wanted to try and show Eliot going off with some chick after he took a beating. He's just always struck me as the kind of guy who'd be more into resting up so he's fresh for the next fight, or whatever. Definitely not the kind of guy who'd want to hook up right then. I'm all for Eliot having fun, but that just wasn't the scene to imply it from. They could've done so much more with it.

And I had to LOL at your "friend who is driving Eliot to his private doctor" bit, because I totally wrote a tag in which the chick was a former army nurse and an old buddy of Eliot's. That scene's just so much better if Nurse Gail is no longer some chick Eliot's going off to hook up with ( ... )
