Comic book movie stuff--casting spoilers and speculation

Jul 18, 2009 23:20

I don't really consider casting news to be a spoiler, but I'll cut it anyway. Spoilers and speculation for several movies.

Okay, so I haven't talked about this yet... )

i think the guy who plays david on kings would be PERFECT for the flash. and even though he might be a bit too old (depending if it's supposed to be the origin movie or not), i've been thinking of mark valley as captain america for ages.

I just looked up the guy from Kings. I'd have to see him in something to get a sense of him, but he has a good look.

I think Mark Valley would be a bit too old for Cap. I always kind of liked Ben Browder, but he's around the same age as Mark. I'm pretty sure they'll go with someone around the 30 mark, so they can grow into the role and last for more than one Avengers film. I was sort of thinking of Jason Lewis (Dex from Charmed), but I don't know. His name comes up a lot. Bradley Cooper has been thrown around, too. He's around 34...

he can do ~*earnest~* very well, so i see him as barry more, imo.

yeah, that's true about more than one film. i think they're better off getting a total unknown because nerds could argue about this for ages, lol.

I'm actually thinking the movie will have both Barry and Wally. Especially since they've cast Hal Jordan.

You know, and unknown wouldn't be a bad idea. It has its advantages, since whoever they get will be bound to sequels. An unknown actor would be easier to lock into future movies. At the same time, they might want someone recognizable, as with RDJ. But thinking long term, I think the most important thing is chemistry with RDJ. The Iron Man/Cap dynamic is just too important.

because nerds could argue about this for ages, lol.

Ahem. I'll be arguing about this until they make the announcement. :p

Huh, I could totally see him as Wally West, now that you mention it. And now I'm almost a little disappointed he wasn't cast as the Flash. Even though I had never considered the possibility before. D:

He's been Wally in my head for so long that I was actually a little WTF when I first heard about him playing Green Lantern, lol.

I just watched an interview with Ryan that was made before the GL announcement, and he said that at different points, he was indeed in talks to play The Flash, but it never came to fruition. Though he would liked to have had the role. D:

Ryan Reynolds is Green Lantern and Deadpool. Yeah, those are 2 movies I'll see. Ryan is hot.

I hoped that Gerard Butler would play Thor, but I'm ok with an Australian. I like Aussies. :-D

No. Please, no Leonardo DiCaprio for Captain America. *gags* The actor I'd love to see in that role? Jamie Bamber. He's got the blond hair, blue eyes, muscle, and does a perfect American accent. The only problem would be his height. Jamie is only 5'9". *dreams of seeing Jamie on the big screen with RDJ and drools a lot*

Ryan's Deadpool was badass in Wolverine. I'm a fangirl for guys who wield blades and wear sleeveless shirts. :D I can't wait for the Deadpool film to come out.

I have a feeling I'm going to be pretty cranky and impatient until some pics from Green Lantern are released. I NEED to see Ryan in the costume.

Chris Hemsworth is pretty hot, and he did the whole hero thing in Star Trek, so he should be able to pull off Thor

My first choice for Cap is still Jason Lewis. The man looks exactly like Cap.

Yes, Chris Hemsworth is pretty hot. I can see myself drooling/fangirling over him when the movie comes out. :-P

I am now in favor of Jason Lewis playing Captain America.
