Eh... check the answer to the post below you. I went a little insane answering them, but it pretty much sums up my feelings.

Short answer: Marvel is inept and inconsistent and relies on the shock killing of characters and poor characterization.

There's a whole list of grievances, but I finally got around to last month's Ultimate X-Men, and the ending just pissed me off. I don't even like the Ultimate line, but I've kept reading it because it's the only place where Northstar was being used in any semi-useful way. Now they've gone and (apparently) screwed that up

*DIES* I don't even get ultimate. That book is such garbage now. It had so much promise when it came out, but mannnn. That changed.

Yeah, the new mutants handleage is hurting my feelings. Rogue and Gambit both got screwed over because of Peter Milligan. *DIES* all good points. Marvel pisses me off, too. I mostly cannot stand the EmmaScott that's shoved down our throats. And then there's WolfCub taking out Magma like he even had a chance. M Day. Dazzler and Longshot apparently splitting up right after they reunited. Marvel sucks :/

My only reason for reading Ultimate (and suffering through the atrocity which was Robert Kirkman's run) was to see Northstar. I follow that character everywhere he appears, so I was willing to read it for him.

But now they've apparently freaking killed him off in a lame freaking idiot way. True, he could be in a coma next issue, but even if he is, he's pretty much been scrapped for the sake of shock value.

Peter Milligan should never be allowed to touch an X-book again. Ever.

And my God. That Divided We Stand story had Anole managing to sucker punch Northstar. There's no way that could happen given Northstar's reflexes. It's just idiotic. Of course, the writer also forgot he's French Canadian, too.

I wouldn't mind Scott/Emma if they weren't bordering on Mary Sue-territory. Yes, we get it. They're perfect and important. I miss Gen X!Emma.

And the way they treated Dani? It makes me sad.
