Sherlock is really stressed, but as usual he ignores it, and so he continues to go as 'normal', until something triggers him, leading to an almighty outburst no-one saw coming.
Cue friend!John coming to Sherlock's aid with a simple solution of a hug. No slash, just friendship, please. Thank you.

(because I really do need a hug today, but sadly there's no-one around who could help, so)

John's only done it twice, and both times it was extremely necessary, and the second time it was vital to the security of the nation
