Raz and the Homeless Network still believe...

...and a wave of graffiti sweeps the nation overnight.
John might be alternately pitied and sneered at by the majority of the population, but wherever he goes, there's always a reminder that he's not alone in his belief in Sherlock.
Sometimes it's big, like a massive, heroic portrait mural on the side of an abandoned factory. Sometimes it's a small tag written over a street sign.
(Bonus points for the reporter's house being repeatedly graffitied during the night (by different people), until she or another investigative reporter starts digging further into the story and finding the flaws in "Richard Brook's" story by interviewing other people who knew him rather than just going from one person's testimony.)

OP here.
I love you for this - it was exactly what I wanted! Such beautiful, evocative language, especially the last line, which I want to print out and hug to myself. Thank you so much!

At some point I am going to start printing out stuff like this and putting it up on my walls. I am seriously considering it. It will be beautiful, a testiment to what fandom can produce in it's full glory, and just... Just... *Whimper*

Um, maybe. I probably should. I hadn't thought of that when I wrote this tbh. I'm overwhelmed by the comments. I mean wow, thank you everyone. So expect it maybe to be up somewhere else and properly edited later maybe.

Is it odd that this reminds me of "Frodo Lives"?
But anyway, this is lovely and beautiful and I can't even. My favorite lines are the ones about wings and the one "It's like Gospel." Because if anyone can grow a religion, it's Sherlock.

It was a 60s/70s counterculture thing, where people would graffiti "Frodo Lives!" on lots of stuff. I'm not sure what the purpose was (Wiki's blacked out), but it's awesome.
