...and a wave of graffiti sweeps the nation overnight.
John might be alternately pitied and sneered at by the majority of the population, but wherever he goes, there's always a reminder that he's not alone in his belief in Sherlock.
Sometimes it's big, like a massive, heroic portrait mural on the side of an abandoned factory. Sometimes it's a small tag written over a street sign.
(Bonus points for the reporter's house being repeatedly graffitied during the night (by different people), until she or another investigative reporter starts digging further into the story and finding the flaws in "Richard Brook's" story by interviewing other people who knew him rather than just going from one person's testimony.)

OP here. Wow. Just, wow! It's gorgeous! I love the way that the wings sweep into individual feathers, and the way that they frame - almost protectively - Sherlock's profile.
(I can't believe I got a second fill for my prompt, and they're both so wonderful!)

Haha, I couldn't quite get the biggest one to fit, but the large one looks lovely centered on my monitor. (Also, just so you know, it replaced my Dean/Castiel "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways" one, which is my other favorite.)
