I've found that roach spray works the best. It doesn't have the range, but they're stone dead about 1/3 the way to the ground so it doesn't matter.
Or fire.

Fire may not interact with the eaves very well :)

I think the fire would interact with the eaves very well. I don't think it would have any trouble interfacing with them. :) OK so the eaves may not like the interaction but I don't think they could really stop it. :)
