My First YoonHae Drabble
Title: By His Side
Pairing/s: Yoona & Donghae, YoonHae
Note: This was written way before SuJu's Bonamana comeback so you may think that the plot might be old. It's about what SuJu (and Hae for that matter) went through when Geng left seen through Yoona's eyes. Please do understand that English isn't my first language (in fact I'm Filipino/Chinese) so you might spot misspelled and/or grammatical errors. This is my first post here in LJ so I'm a little bit nervous, so if you ever have the chance to read and like this story please do comment. Constructive criticism is welcomed but no bashing please! (End of rant, I will shut up now.)
By His Side
She knows what they’re--- he’s--- going through. Painfully enough she knows and witnessed everything he’s been enduring. And she knows that he is trying his best to surpass this nightmare.
The past months haven’t been… enjoyable for them to say the least. What was once a strong thirteen-member bond was now slowly fading to eleven, ten and from what she was witnessing now nine. She’s seen it with her very own eyes. Watched them slowly depart from each other’s company.
She sat there watching them perform, a smile masked on their faces. But truly they’re hurting inside wishing, wanting for everything to be back as it used to be. They’re movements were precise as they always were but surely something was missing.
Her oppas were truly hurt by the decisions made, but they respected them for the fact that for more than four years they lived and worked together. They treated each other as brothers and they couldn’t bear seeing the other unhappy, so if one of them wanted to leave then they’ll let him leave as long as he’s contented and most importantly happy. That’s what the girls would have done too if they were in their situation.
There were days in particular when she just sat beside him in silence and watched with a breaking heart how his tears flowed endlessly. She was hurting too, because she couldn’t do anything to comfort him. All that she could do was gather him in her arms and whisper useless words of comfort.
Yes she was becoming helpless with this situation. It was even starting to affect her performances on stage. Even though she knew Donghae was a strong individual never the less she also wanted to be strong for him. She didn’t want to let these emotions make her feel vulnerable and weak.
Of course Donghae wasn’t the only one who was in a rough path, in fact the whole Super Junior members were hurting too. So the girls would come and visit them once in a while to relieve them from their loneliness. But that’s what family is for right?
Leeteuk was as usual trying his best to bottle up his emotions for the sake of his dongsaengs. Rather than being the leader and staying strong there are times when he just couldn’t take it anymore and break down; he is human like everybody else after all. He sometimes comes to her for comfort too; even though Yoona has Donghae now Leeteuk is still her best friend and her big brother to begin with.
She does her best to cheer them up but it usually renders useless. They’re her sunbaes but more than that they are her brothers too. During her trainee and debut days she would have his oppas by her side cheering her and the unnies on. But this time it’s Yoona’s turn to cheer them on, to cheer him on. She would do anything to bring back their lively dorky selves.
Donghae was in so much emotional pain, but true enough his pain is also her pain. She wasn’t sure whether Super Junior would be complete once more but Donghae will one day smile genuinely again and perform wholeheartedly as he used to, given that Yoona will be by his side through out all of this.
