The Understudy
Lee Sungmin isn’t one of the most popular members in Super Junior. He’s a good dancer but not as powerful as Eunhyuk or a smooth dancer like Donghae. He is a decent singer too just not as sophisticated as Kyuhyun, Yesung or Ryeowook. He has a great body to boot although not as sculpted or toned as Siwon’s. But that is how he sees himself otherwise.
He occasionally thinks to himself what he really is as part of Super Junior, when in the first place there are twelve other members in the group who are obviously much more talented and good-looking than he is. He even once believed that he’s only good at replacing members for shows when something unexpected comes up, an “understudy” you might say.
It’s times like these when Lee Sungmin isn’t his usual lively and aegyoful self but rather an angsty sulky person. He even starts to question his own capabilities and the reason why he haven’t left the group ages ago when obviously Super Junior could go on smoothly with or without him.
However after hours and hours of grueling practices he just sits here on the far end corner of the dimly lit practice room (As he always does) and plays a mellow song with his over-used guitar then gazes down contentedly at his beautiful Lee Sunkyu who’s sleeping soundly (Out of pure exhaustion) with her head rested comfortably on his shoulder does he realizes why he’s here (In this career) in the first place. (Because of Lee Sunkyu)
