Dear God.

Well curiosity killed the melmay and I read the taping report. There are just some things that cannot be unseen. Ugh, this is one of them. Let's just say I am glad that I did not have lunch or dinner today. I would very likely be heaving in the bathroom right about now.

All seemed to be going okay. Eh, not a huge fan of their conversation, but whatever. But, then, THEN......I wanted to claw out my eyes, except for I'd still have the memory of what I read. *Shudder*

Major continuity issue: Now don't get me wrong, I love any mention of Spock and/or Zachary Quinto. But, Sheldon said that Star Trek 09 was terrible, and who can forget "Live Long and Suck It ZQ"? And now, he actually likes QuintoSpock....seriously writers? SERIOUSLY?

Sadly, my first, last, and only post.

*sigh* This is the proverbial straw. I hung in there as long as I could, but as you say, no amount of brain bleach can erase the memory of what I read or the images it conjured. I'm done. From now on, TBBT exists only in S/P fan fiction.

Yeah, I just dunno how people do it though. I know I always see/hear, "Well at least we have Fan Fiction." But, for me, I just don't think like that. My mind goes to a very dark place, sort of a fandom depression if you will.

Like...I feel like, I don't want to read it, I don't want to write it, I don't want to beta it, I don't want to review it, I don't want to like it, I don't want to heart it. To me, all motivation and inspiration is gone. Even though I know that FF is the only way to keep Shenny alive.

This. I still get hopeful messages asking me if I'm going to write more / a sequel, and I feel awful confessing that the mojo has curled up in a corner, rocking and sucking its thumb. But I don't recognise any of these creatures any more, and I just don't think there is anything to salvage, in terms of interest or enjoyment. The only faint inspiration is for stuff that is so extremely AU that the characters bear scant resemblance to the originals.

There comes a point when something should just be put out of everyone's misery, y'know? The shark has not only been jumped, it has been pickled in formaldehyde and displayed as art. I only came back to see if things had got better. They really, really haven't. In fact, not only did the fun go out of it a long time ago, but now, even nostalgia has been given a damn good kicking. I'm sorry I ever wrote fic for the show, because it has become something I don't want to be associated with. :/

Oh no, it's all kinds of creepy.

It's like phone sex. In person. Just....ick.

I would rather watch Penny and Bernadette hold Mrs. Wolowitz's rolls of fat out of the way, as Leonard humped her until her enormous lady parts swallowed him whole than any part of that scene.

I am not joking.

Thanks for the mental image by the way :CC

No, but for real if people don't find this even a little creepy it will just make me think English speaking people are into some weird stuff.

I didn't know things like this could actually be funny or worse, endearing. I truly, really, with all sincerity in my heart. I wouldn't understand is someone actually liked this in a not morbid, "this is fucked up so it's funny" way.

Oh my gosh so it wasn't just me?! Good cause that e d scene made me fringe horribly, if any starts to go into details on e returning that Sheldon does to her in bed I'll literally be this close to punching the tv screen off. I wonder the same thing too, why are they dragging the wait so long for the Shamy?! Why can't they just do it now?! It's been three years I think that's long enough for Amy, I'm surprised she's waited this long for Sheldon lol I honestly can't believe people think that it'll last up to ten seasons, I don't think it's gonna survive for that long if each episode is like THIS. And I'm Hispanic as well but to answer your question YES many American tv sitcoms are very into the whole 'it's weird but funny' comedy.

We now have the Shenny Anthem.

Seriously, read the lyrics. If I wrote a song for five years, I couldn't come up with something more accurate to our situation. It is beyond perfect. Heartbreaking but perfect.

GASP! I know that song!:D it's from this group called 'Trading Yesterday' all their songs are great! I think this song is called Shattered, I think. But that song just speaks Shenny:)

I know. I mean the title, "Shattered" in and of itself is appropriate for the Shenny fandom.

One of just the many lines that reflect Shenny: "All this time spent in vain, wasted years, wasted gain" is what I feel right about now. Like I just wasted years...I should have walked away 5 years ago.

I love this line too: "Illusions of the sunlight-and the reflection of a lie will keep me waiting" It reminds me of all the Shenny moments that they gave us, even within the last couple of seasons, almost like they were stringing us along to keep us here. But, it was all a lie.

I wrote a long post expressing my feelings about this taping report but then I decided to erase it (I know, thank God, right?). Everyone has already articulated what I was thinking. I guess, for now, all I want to say is this...

"April is the cruellest month"

Indeed. :(

ok, after reading this, i can only expect for the final episode to be like a teenage drunken party, where they lock up sheldon and amy in the bathroom until they do it! why isn't anything happenning??? the last couple of episodes were soo boring! they use always the same characters interacting with the same characters and nothing is happening! why does it always have to be only the girls and only the boys??!!! it was really nice at the start of the season when they played pictionary or something, where guest characters appear and something is actually happening. i guess it would be more interesting if they went to vegas, but this ( ... )

This show is stuck in a lousy cycle with only the Shamy and Lenny or boys/boys and girls/girls. Nothing interesting or surprising happens on this show. Sheldon has lived next to Penny for years and we are suppose to believe he never thought about being with her and now Amy comes along and we are suppose to believe he is interesting in Amy? I'm not even talking about just looks. I'm talking about the chemistry between Sheldon and Penny and how they have always been there for each other. This show just do not make any sense to me. I guess when you have no other good shows going up against you TPTB can just throw anything out there with this show?

He didn't exactly say he considered hacking sex with one before he met her more like he wasn't interested in anyone. But when any asked him the question he had a rather long pause, that says something.

Yeah, he said he wasnt interested in being intimate with anyone before Amy. But then she asks how he feels now- the long pause and then he says he wouldnt rule it out. That doesnt exactly sound like its something he wants- it sounds more like something that he knows might happen if he wants to keep Amy around. And just this last episode he said that coitus was ridiculous and off-putting. They are so all over the place with these characters its like one episode is an AU from the episode before it- we are going through the infinite Sheldons. Maybe someday there will be one resembling the old Sheldon.

I sometimes wonder if, in the end, they will drag the Amy/Sheldon relationship out till the finale only to have it turn out that Sheldon really is asexual and he ends up alone. His answer to her in this episode would certainly point that way. Like an I will do it if I have to answer. Otherwise are we to believe that he is an adult male who is just now hitting puberty? Because that is what his answer would imply.

I am not a shipper of anyone in particular on this show but I have to agree with many of the comments regarding Chuck Lorre. He is not a great writer or producer in my opinion but he obviously makes CBS money which may explain why he gets away with doing many of the things he does to his characters on his shows (Two and a Half Men, TBBT come to mind). IMO, he has no respect for women which is why he allows characters like Penny to do the things they do. In a way, when Charlie Sheen was having his meltdown, it may have been his way of protesting his feelings about Chuck Lorre but, of course, the way it played out in the media, he was the crazy one. Maybe if Chuck Lorre was my boss, I may have reacted the same way. LOL ( ... )
