The scene with the fish and the parrot and the bucket of tar and the walking around leaving prints on deck ... I was rolling. Poor Parrot! Too bad there's no Dawn dishwashing soap around to get it out of his feathers!

Thanks! I was getting a little too maudlin and that darn scene just wouldn't get out of my head. I was afraid I'd gone a little overboard actually. But I realized after reading your post that I'd mistakenly used "paint" instead of "tar" in a few places -- kind of hard to "tar the rigging" without the tar, lol! (slaps side of head -- bad, bad landlubber!)

Thanks again, but I'm afraid I'm not done messin' with that dratted parrot yet...

Thank you for the wonderful update. I love this dtory more than I can even begin to say, love.

Poor, poor Will. You weren't lying when you said "Gratuitous Will Turner Abuse" were you? Though I suppose at this point it's pretty fair to say "Gratuitous Jack Sparrow Abuse" as well.

But I trust you to put this all to rights!

Yep, definitely the "Gratuitous Jack Sparrow Abuse" as well -- why should Will have all the fun? Let's just say I'm planning on putting *most* of it to rights, which is a fair mite better than I'd originally planned on ending this fic! Don't worry, it'll be a *mostly* happy ending. ;D

I always love seeing an update of this fic and you didn't disappoint with this one. What Girard did to Will broke my heart, this is definitely an angst-o-rama...which is probably why I love it so much ;P

I can't wait to see another update, I'd love to poke you with my irritating and annoying "update stick" but I'll try to refrain *g*

I wanted to make Girard at least on par with Barbossa on the "evilness" scale, since I wanted a very good reason for Jack making such an abrupt "career change." Hope it works!

And please feel free to poke with the "update stick" from time to time -- I'm trying to finish another fic at the same time I'm working on this one, so it helps to know people are still interested. I know it's a bother for my readers that I'm so darn slow, so I'll apologize again. If it helps, any future fics will be finished *before* I start posting, lol!

Well now that you've given me free reign to use it my "update stick" may get a workout ;P I completely understand RL and other things getting in the way of posting updates and finishing the fic, I'm a writer myself and know how that goes, but being a reader I'm still impatient and whiney for new chapters of the fics I love. Now, if you tell me the new fic you're writing is a Jack/Will too that might hold back the "update stick"...at least for a while *snerk*

Nope, sorry, it's just my gen SW fic that I've been working on *almost* as long as this story! But I'll try to be good and not keep you waiting *too* long, lol!

Hey, no worries, mate. I'm having to make a note of the URL's of stories I haven't had time to keep up with (including yours!) so I can get back to them once I have a few spare minutes. That's not looking like it'll happen anytime soon, more's the pity. Work/sleep/work has been pretty much the norm!

I'm so pleased to see another chapter of this fic - hope you take this as encouragement to write more! I'd read the first dozen or so chapters on another site - so long ago I can't even remember the name - and I am so glad I found your journal with the more recent chapters.

Looking forward to more angst and a hopefully happy ending :)

Thank you so much! Yes, I'll definitely take this as encouragement to write more -- glad to hear I haven't lost all my readers with my glacial writing speed.

I can certainly promise you more angst and a *mostly* happy ending, but I can't make it *too* easy on poor Jack, lol!
