Oh, I really liked this. Great Kaylee characterization, and I like the simplicity of the way things are.

Thanks! I always thought it was kinda unfair that poor Kaylee never got laid in that episode, and I really like working with one-episode characters, so I was really happy it all worked for people!

And for a moment she's happy and warm as Kaylee curls up next to her in the bed, but the ticking the clock on her drawer quickly reminds her that she has somewhere she needs to be.

The tactile and auditory hook in this small bit is just sheer brilliance and well done. Made me sleepy and yawny. [grin]

[wibbles] That was so touching. The voices were right there and so spot on. Poor Kaylee, but you had her nailed [cough] right from the beginning.

Lovely!

Thank you so much! I re-wrote that paragraph like five times, so I'm happy it was well-recieved. *g*

And I'm glad you liked the way I wrote Kaylee! I always worry some about the voices in Firefly, so it's nice to be told I'm getting it right.

Wow! I absolutely love your Kaylee, and Chari is fabulously characterized. I loved how her thoughts are sort of bitter and selfish, but still too warm to really be cold-hearted and treacherous. It's a lovely portrait of her as a character, giving her the depth I wish we could have seen on the show.

Thank you! I really was glad I got a chance to write Chari - I felt kind of bad for her when she got thrown out at the end of the episode, even though she was kind of back-stabby. But I thought she deserved to be fleshed out, and I'm glad it worked for people!

Really nce. I like the way you slip this into canon, and the complicated rôle you assign each of the three characters.

Thank you so much! I like to think that they could have all been interacting in the scenes we didn't see.
