EEEEEEH!

Or, to be slightly more coherent: this was AMAZING! <3

I loved how you 'translated' Star Wars to New York (but not quite as we know it), how Han is still a smuggler and a rogue and a scoundrel and offended at the accusation of scruffiness (but fine with being called half-witted, insufferable and a cowboy, apparently) and working Solo but also super-protective of his friends and a rebel at heart. (And sending Leia smuggled goodies.) Leia is just perfectly badass and competent and a good person fitting in a system that may have its flaws but which she still staunchly supports.

Luke - aw, Luke! Slightly naive and idealistic fits him perfectly, and that moment when he sees Han all beaten up and asks what happened had me squeal just a bit. (Leia's 'if they used excessive force, I would fully support you filing a complaint' was wonderful, too, but I loved how those reactions display the differences between them.)

Thank you so very much for writing this for me!

Awww, thank you so much :)

I really love both Star Wars and White Collar, but I never considered bringing them together before. I think deciding the exact way how to "translate" Star Wars to New York was probably my biggest problem when writing this. I had to decide how much of the White Collar universe to keep and what to give up; if I should try to fit the Star Wars characters into the exact same roles of the people from White Collar, if I could keep any WC characters at all and how much could I deviate from the White Collar story. In the end I decided to go with a more loose interpretation of the canon and just try to keep the "feel" of White Collar, so I'm really glad that it worked well for you :)

I really enjoyed writing Han and Leia here (and Luke); discovering how they would act in these different dynamics while keeping intact the essence of who they really are, with all their flaws and strengths and rough edges that we love so much about them.

Thank you for review and I'm really glad you enjoyed this :)

This was so great! It was such a clever fusion, I just love how you translated the Star Wars universe over into White Collar and it really just works. Han and Leia were perfectly themselves, with the banter and the way they can't quite hide the fact that they actually kind of like each other, and Leia being super competent and Han definitely a scoundrel but still a good guy in the end. Also Luke was adorable, always thinking the best of everyone in a world where that isn't always true. I'm fond of the idea of the Wookiee reservations - I mean, it's completely HORRIBLE, but that was an awesome way to fit them into this 'verse. It gives a touch of realism to it, if that makes sense.

Thanks for linking me to this in Fandom Stocking, I'm glad I was able to discover it. :)

Oooh thank you :D I'm so happy you enjoyed this :D

At first I didn't quite know the fusion would work, but in the end I had a lot of fun with it - writing Leia and Han and their playful relationship, finding parallels to White Collar, discovering the other Staw Wars characters in this universe - for example, I didn't at first know that Tarkin would be there, but when he appeared it completely made sense to me. I'm really glad you liked the idea of Wookie reservations, because I wanted to include Chewie, and for the longest time it just didn't work - until I came up with the reservations, which pretty much gave life to the rest of the fic. So there's a bit of Star Wars in how the Empire treated non-humans, and a bit of White Collar in how Han gets sentences and then makes the deal with Leia while trying to protect someone he cares for... except my head-canon is that in this universe it totally works out and in the end they all live happily ever after.

Thank you for your wonderful review and I'm really glad you enjoyed the story :)
