I tried something a bit different this time around and made a set of Lichtenstein inspired icons. The first two came out the best, but the one of K9 is rather cute.

These did take me a while, though. Each one was quicker than the last, but I was up til stupid o'clock getting them all finished.

I'll probably get around to some new PotC ones when the new film arrives, but for now it's DW, Sharpe and some X-Men ones I have in my head.

Wow - they're amazing. I've been looking for an effect like that for ages - how did you do it?

It's interesting, too, because last night I spent quite a while creating my own K-9 "faithful" icon - this one.

The text on the Mickey one was actually originally 'Doggy' in reference to School Reunion, but then when I decided to add K-9 to the set I had to change it - the team can't have two dogs.

I actually got the basic method from a tutorial on an icon commuity - the first time I've followed someone else's instructions to make an icon. I added the text and the dotty background myself, and the dots bleeding onto the foreground was just something that happened by accident the first time and I decided looked quite cool.

It's a combination of filters and effects. Start with Median followed by Poster Edges, hand tweak it where it needs it, then Threshold. Then you just do any more hand tweaking and colour your background layer.

I love Lichtenstein - one day I'm determined to have a large Lichtenstein print on my wall - so when I saw the tutorial I just had to give it a go, and thought that Specky!Ten jusy cried out for a pop art treatment.

In my old school, we had a reproduction of "WHAAAM!" on the wall of one of our lecture rooms...

I shall definitely have to try that at some point.

Cool. The very nice gallery shop in North Laine had a print of it a little while back, but it was a couple of hundred squid.

Excellent. Very good. Even cartoon version of David Tennant is fanciable.

He is rather, isn't he?

Mind you, I fancied Nine, and the Eighth goes without saying, so I'm clearly just an incorigible Time Lord fancier.

I never fancied any of them before David Tennant, except that my brother reliably informs me that I once had a (primary) school-girl crush on Peter Davison. Sounds about right!

I still kind of have a school-girl crush on him. He was quite a pretty Doctor and still looks quite good - he's worn a hell of a lot better than most of the other Doctors.
