I tried something a bit different this time around and made a set of Lichtenstein inspired icons. The first two came out the best, but the one of K9 is rather cute.
I never fancied any of them before David Tennant, except that my brother reliably informs me that I once had a (primary) school-girl crush on Peter Davison. Sounds about right!
I still kind of have a school-girl crush on him. He was quite a pretty Doctor and still looks quite good - he's worn a hell of a lot better than most of the other Doctors.
Aye, 'tis true - Tom and Colin Baker have both, dare I say it, got a little fat and gray in old age... and as for Sylvester McCoy, well, ugh. (Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the first three doctors are all deceased now...)
Colin Baker is unrecognisable now - he's this big fat thing now. Tom Baker is bigger than he was, but he was fairly skinny in his day, so that's allowable.
Yes, I believe the first three have used up their regenerations.
Don't let trinalin on my friends list hear you insulting McCoy - she's a massive fan. I'm with you though *g*
Tom Baker was something special - definitely my favourite doctor, although David Tennant might get up there if he runs the course because I'm very impressed with him so far. Tom Baker had this incredible charisma - he certainly wasn't a beautiful man, yet had this quality that made you want to watch him forever, and had you fascinated by him and hanging on his every word. He brought so much character to the role - the definitive Doctor for me, with his scarf and his jelly babies and all the rest. Fantastic. I think one of the reasons I am so taken with David Tennant is that he is the first Doctor since Tom Baker to display that unnerving charm - the man who can be spooky one minute and kooky the next, who can be a formidable opponent to the world's scariest monster and yet still have this impish knowing grin that is equally disarming. The man who can be funny and vulnerable and off the wall whilst never leaving you doubting for even a moment that he is in absolute control of every situation he finds himself in

What I loved about Eccleston was that he could flip from madcap to scarily dark in an instant, one moment grinning like a fool the next looking like he would quite happily press the big red button marked 'destroy everything'. That was part og his whole PTSD arc, though, so Ten will never be quite as scary. He is endearingly vulnerable, though, as shown last night.
I agree, Eccleston had all the qualities you mentioned. He was a good doctor. But he didn't have that certain "je ne sais quoi" that Tennant has hinted at and Tom Baker had mastered.
Oh, I think he had a je ne sais quoi all of his own. I was well and truly smitten with his version of the Doctor and will never here the word 'fantastic' in the same way again.
Euch, I just spotted a horrible, horrible typo in my commant and would like it stricken from the record. 'can't here the word'? My licence to use grammar has just been rescinded.
Oh, and, Peter Davison got the best theme music along with those wonderful holographic shooting stars, whilst the best thing about Sylvester McCoy's doctor was Ace...

Mind you, I fancied Nine, and the Eighth goes without saying, so I'm clearly just an incorigible Time Lord fancier.
