'Community' thoughts

Okay, so, I seriously watched all of Community Season 1 in the span of 3 to 4 days.

Gillian Jacobs, who plays Britta, was in a hilarious (but very, VERY dirty) movie called "Choke". She played a stripper named Cherry Daquiry, AKA Beth, and she was wonderful.

The first time I ever watched "Community", I was at my dad's house and when I saw her I said "Oh my God that's Cherry Daquiry!" and then I had to explain all that to my dad.

I really enjoy the show but maybe there's a reason I keep forgetting it.

And don't feel bad, I have no life, either. I don't even have a job.

I read the novel for 'Choke' but never saw the film.

I always feel guilty when I obsess about something - but thanks for the love! <3

I've read the book, too. But I saw the movie first. I've actually read all but 3 of Chuck Palahniuk's novels, I'm a huge fan.

But, yeah, "Community" is awesome. I'm just a dumb natural blonde that can't remember to watch it.

I agree about the shipping. I guess if I had to choose and "none of the above" wasn't an option I'd pick Jeff/Britta, but only because Jeff/Annie squicks me so bad because of her age. I have an age gap squick i guess, at least when the one person is so young (she's what, 19? Maybe 20? SHE PROBABLY CAN'T EVEN BUY ALCOHOL IN THE US AHHHHHHH).

Troy/Abed is the true OTP though.

Um, well, you'd probably be squicked out to know my husband is much older than me - 13 years older, mean, he couldn't technically be my Dad, but it is an age gap.

Which I RELENTLESSLY tease him about, but I digress...

It's actually really, really, REALLLLY hard to squick me.

The age gap between Jeff/Annie doesn't bother me as much as the previous writing does - she was established as young and sort of immature, so the idea of them together doesn't quite click.

If things had been handled differently from the beginning I could buy into it more, but then again, the whole Jeff/Britta thing was hand-tailored from the beginning and it felt forced to me.

*shrugs* I just don't have a ship on this show (for now) - except Troy/Abed naturally.

And yeah, NO ALCOHOL FOR HER! SHE HAS TO WAIT 'TILL SHE 21! NYAH!

That said, I tend to favour Jeff/Annie over Jeff/Britta. While I have little against the latter, I think it was just oversold/forced at the beginning and I don't really go for ships like that.

Yeah, Jeff/Britta felt forced to me, too - I am glad they slept together though, as I felt that needed to be taken care of, but now that that's over, I kind of root for them to just be BBFs - I kind of like the show's ambiguity when it comes to ships - everything's sort of loose.

The whole Annie/Britta/Jeff/Professor lady thing is SOOOO STUPID. There's nothing to make me root for any of them.

I'd really like to see Annie/Abed, though.
