i have a gift card from CdL. You should let me know when you guys are going. i love that place.

as for feedings, with both girls, i just kinda let them feed as needed, which was pretty often for the first few months (every two hours sounds about right) and as they got bigger and stronger with larger tummies, they took it upon themselves to start regulating their eating a little bit more. my best advise is to pump as often as possible and have ali help. otherwise you will go nuts. even though expressed milk is like gold, it's good to use it sometimes.

i'm so happy that you won't need surgery and that the thrush is at bay. it only gets better, girl! <3

Lemme know when and I'm THERE for CdL meal! I so love it. I also love getting it to-go, now that I know how...

Hmm, yes, larger tummy seems like it'd be helpful. I am SO trying to pump but the most I can ever get is about 1 oz (sometimes 1.5), which means for 1 bottle it takes a whole day of pumping + one more pumping the next morning. The stuff's hard to come by! But I AM slowly slowly building up.. currently we have 3 bottles' worth, after using 2 bottles up a couple days ago. I'm going to keep at it! Bottles = mommy freedom!!

Oh gawd I'm so glad, too, I feel like celebrating!! In fact, I'm going to email about a girl-dinner now...

I have no advice on the feeding. Both M and F were older/bigger than Keaton before they started going more than 2 or 3 hours between feedings on any kind of regular basis, and both of them nurse(d) *often* at night. Finn is closing in on 7 mos. and weighs about 20 lbs. now, but he still nurses quite a bit at night because he's too busy looking and learning during the day, I think. "OoOOOH! A LIGHT! Oh, wait! A dog! Holy crap! A TREE?!!" LOL Luckily, I have gotten a bit more used to sleeping through his night feedings and can doze through most of them now.

Also we gave up on the cloth diapers at night and just use a disposable for that. We couldn't find any way to avoid changing him often at night otherwise, even double-diapered, even with a super-soaker pad in place.

It's good to hear you're feeling better, though! That's wonderful news.

DUDE, how do you function without at least those 2 hour increments? I feel bad for complaining now. Keats usually sleeps from 9pm-at least midnight, sometimes 1, and has even gone til 2:30 before waking. And I still complain about the lack-o-sleep! The usual is 9pm-1am, then up at 2:30, 4:30, 6:30 and then by 7 he's basically ready to play. This morning I woke up at 8, though, and he was wide-eyed beside me looking at our ceiling fan. I love that boy!!

Yeah, my Dad bought us some disposables, claiming that's the way to go. My fear is that once I try them for nighttime I'll want em for daytime, tooo..!

Casa dinner me up sometime, S!!

Thank you, me TOO. I am I am! It's my new thing, self-care. I actually had to say to someone the other day "I'm really sorry, I am very self-absorbed right now and totally didn't hear a word you said."

Someone = my dad, so he was forgiving.

Perhaps fuzzibunz at night with a hemp prefold as the insert? You could probably get away with just one change then. I suggest the fuzzibun because it'll wick the urine away from his skin and help prevent rash, and the hemp is SUPER absorbent. Lina does not like feeling wet at all, and sometimes her FB diapers will be really heavy in the morning. (at night though she doesn't usually pee unless she's waking up and nursing, and then WOOOSH, where as during the day she pees far more often but it's a lot less usually ( ... )

We have some fuzzibunz, I think! We had no newborn diapers but K is old enough/big enough for just small diapers now, I bet. That's a great idea. I will raid our diaper drawer and see what we have to use. I heard that our diaper service will even wash that stuff for us, too, if we got it at Austin Baby (most of which we did). ROCK! Thanks, Alix.

We have no crib. We have the floor bed but it's SO cold there right now (er, as of last night? ha!) that I'm hesitant to put him there. Okay, truth: He's my snuggle bunny now, I'd hate to have to sleep wtihout him! I get so panicked at night that I love having him right by me so I can check..

I AM sleeping through most feedings. I help him latch when necessary (about half the time) and then I conk out. Thank god for that!

I have a free week coming up.. wanna grab tea or somethin'?

The first few weeks we started Lina off in her crib I missed her a lot. NOw i am used to it and know she'll be there soon anyway. Of course her crib is colder than my warm bed, so we layer her one extra layer. It started off out of guilt that Chuck bought that fancy crib, but now I like the idea.

Perhaps tea tuesday?
