WHOOHOO!!
Yes -- fully functional boobs are aaaawwwesome. I remember clearly the first time my milk let down uncontrollably. I had to grab a towel and hold it to my chest to stop the deluge, laughing the whole way. I am SO happy for you three, Shayna! How totally exciting! Congratulations, Mama. :D I can't wait to meet him!

I love the boobs! The soreness goes away soon, though, right? Mine hasn't let down that much yet, I don't think. The most I get are dribbles while he's actually nursing. I guess there's more to come? Super exciting to be sustaining a body!! I can't wait to introduce you two :)

Soreness? Well, depends. If he's a super-enthusiastic nurser, then you'll have sore nipples for awhile, just to be honest. BE SURE you follow MM's advice for booby care, because the last thing you want is to end up sharing a nice case of thrush with your wee one, like I did. Though the bright side is that you get to paint your nipples with gentian violet, which means you have a totally punk-rock rack for a couple of days. ;)
Regarding dribbles, there MAY be more to come, and you may just be a less messy lactater than I was. Oh -- speaking of lactation, I do highly recommend Traditional Medicinals 'Mother's Milk' tea if you have any doubts about production. It's full of fenugreek and all that good stuff. I drank it daily for almost the entire two years I nursed V.

He is a very enthusiastic nurser! but already the soreness is slightly more tolerable, so hopefully I'm toughening up. YES, we've already swabbed once for thrush and his tongue no longer has white coating so I think we're good, and we'll stay on the lookout. Thank god for MM. Do you ever see her now, btw? I'm oddly panicked at the idea of losing her from my life. That seems silly, I'm sure, but she has been such a profound part of my life for the past almost year and I can't bear the thought of never seeing her again.

YES! Ali bought me that tea just today, causse of COURSE I'm worried about production, worry is what I do! But I'm glad to hear the tea helps. Just as safety. :)

Two years nursing! Wow! I want to go for that long. I hope we do.

Maybe his calm is due to all that yoga and walking you did during pregnancy. Plus *you* were calm during pregnancy! He was already learning from mama! :)

I hope so!! And as soon as he's old enough, he and I will go to post-natal yoga together and hopefully solidify our calms. :)
