it's for...

"Gio, Mom and Ali. That's it for the labor part," I told Meg when she asked who we plan on having at the birth. "And me," she replied. I'm surprised but apparently she does want to be there and I think that'll be nice. She's really good in serious situations. But now I have 4 people. Too many? In my head I imagine laboring in the birthing pool ( Read more... )

boo for back pain.

Hooray for baby showers! Onsies, cute little socks, pastels, puppies, blankets and soft things. That's great that Meg's going to throw you one -- and so nice that she offered.

Labor takes a while... Having a handful of people around, I would think, will enable your support team to sort of take turns. Then Ali can have the final shift at the end, just the two of you. It's a very intimate thing, so you can have it go down however you want, and everyone will respect that.

also, hooray for baby hiccups!

I think you're right, having loved ones around to help out will be good! Plus it IS a long time, and I might have to send someone out for food. I'm glad I can think ahead for food. It's good.

The hiccups are the strangest but coolest thing!! I love it!

there were something like 5-6 people in the room with xacat when she gave birth to maddy, and it wasn't too crowded, crazy, or anything.

it'll all work out.

hugs!

Braxton? Is that the new name?

Nope, the new name is....

(are ya ready...?)

(We're hopeful that this is really it.)

(We both agree and love it...)

Keaton Peter Davis Brown.

I'm going to call him Keats for short. Peter is Ali's grandfather's name and Davis is my Dad's middle name, so there's some family in there, but the first name gets to be something we think is cool but not TOO weird.

heheh I just realized why you asked about Braxton. "Braxton Hicks" contractions are a pre-labor type of contraction that get your uterus ready for REAL labor in a couple months. They hurt some women but mine aren't painful so much as surprising and uncomfy.

btw, I am SO excited about seeing you.

Contractions sound weird. I can't imagine what that must feel like. Thanks for the explanation! I'm learning so much from you, I'm glad you're going through this first! ;)
