Abandoning people in their house after they've offered you hospitality is incredibly rude, especially if the person in question is disabled and unable to follow. Leah was upset and bitter for at least fifteen minutes

Val doesn't play with the radio Steve gave her that often, but that isn't the same as never. She's picked up a thing or two.

Right now, she's humming to herself as she fiddles with the dials, looking for a frequency that seems to be in use. Not that she's sure how she'd tell, unless somebody was talking on it right then.

There's an 'empty' sound that comes with an open channel that's distinguishable from static if you have the ear. Leah's set up a monitor for most of her frequencies - although she's going to have to send someone back to destroy that looped SOS she set up in Frankfurt, 'cause that's still there.

When Valerie hits one of the frequencies Leah keeps open, she's informed in her ear by a beep and a click, and she speaks first.

"Hi!"

"Hi yourself! Uh, I'm Val. Who're you?"

Leah's in what's becoming her home now. There's no need to give out real names.

"Innovator. I'm in Metropolis."

WHEE FREQUENCIES!

OMG THAT ONE ISN'T STATIC!

"Hello! Hello radio! Nyoo York radio! Hello!" The young man on the other end is under the impression that this is the most exciting thing ever.

(To be fair, he does not get out much.)

"Hey New York," Leah says.

Pull, twang.

"How was the babyscan?"

"Oh, what is noise?" A THING! A NEW THING OMG!

"Baby... Kate did not tell me! It is too far away for me to know! I will ask her when I see her."

"Cool, give her my best," Leah says.

Pull twang.

"Oh? I'm just getting in archery practice. You don't mind, do you?"

"Innovator, this is Oracle." There's a voice that's all business.

"Hey O."

Leah picks up on the business voice, but she won't pick up her own until she needs it.

"How's it going?"

"Status quo," Barbara's slight smile is audible. "I need some advice from a tinkerer."

"Tinkerer," Leah repeats. "I can handle that title. What's up?"

"Have ya evah felt... lost?" A strong southern voice, it sounds as if he's been talking. Caine knows he hasn't been talking to anyone, but if someone should be listening-

"Felt alone? Felt like there was no one in th' world who understood you? We all have, we've all been there, and it is Faith, Faith that gets us through."

Leah listens for a few sentences, then clears her throat into the line. It sounds sermony, not conversational.

Father Jackal pauses in his speaking. He wasn't actually sure he'd get anyone. This could be...useful. "Hello mah child."

"Alright, there?" Leah says cheerfully. Her accent is northern British, with a singing lilt to it that speaks of her baseline good mood.

"How's it going?"

There is a Sam at her door, knocking.

He is, perhaps, a little sheepish.

Door knocks don't happen all that often in this apartment, but Leah can answer it pretty quickly, given the speed she's able to move through her own home.

Not that she answers the door straight away, of course. In the hall, she asks, "who is it?"

"Sam."

Who is used to her checking on things before opening the door and waits patiently.

Because it's Sam, she's smiling when she opens up, standing back for him to come in should he want.

"You OK?"
