"I can't seem to get a source for decent comm gear, which means I need to start thinking about how to build them in the field." And she figures Leah's the person to go to with that sort of problem.
"I think that's your department, but I've got a list of stuff I want if that helps? In order of priority: rugged, long ranged, easy to use, and secure."
Then she adds, "I figure that the whole possible to make out of stuff that's easy to find goes without saying."
Leah gives a quick schematic run down of one of her devices as she comes to her table.
"I prioritised range, mostly. So all I need is a bunch of transistors from cheaparse radios lying around, and near unlimitless wiring. but hey, can you scavenge hearing aids for me?"
"Probably..." Barbara frowns, thinking for a second. "I think there's a manufacturer's warehouse in Nebraska with a shipment sitting on the docks. Or that's what pre-disaster records suggest. I could send a team to check it out."
"I'm glad things are working out, then. You don't need anything else, right? You're set up fine for things?" She's pretty sure Leah can take care of herself, but it never hurts to check.
