Yeah, Katara's not going to let her brother out of her sight ever again, thanks. One of her hands holds his (despite his protests that it makes him look less manly) and the other stays reassuringly on her container of bending water as she leads him through the unfamiliar, empty streets.
Less manly? He's wearing a dress. Hand-holding is merely the tip of the iceberg.
Any grumbling quickly subsides, though, at the sheer... city-ness of the city. The buildings! Are too big! And made of rock! As is the floor! And it's just generally very, very weird!
"...You know, I think I might have preferred the island."
That's not really an answer Mel's going to accept right now, as seemingly ignoring Katara (She'll say hi and catch up with things since the apartments in a minute), she's racing towards them.
Honestly, she's aiming for a hug, but that might not be that obvious.
