Some disguises just come ready made.

The Coraline is parked a mile away from the outskirts of the farm, obscured by trees and covered with a tarp ( Read more... )

Is she looking for Iris?

Because: left-handed lesbian rock drummer leaning over the side of the boat, looking down at Ruth.

She doesn't recognize her until the taste flows through and up. Then she smiles, if hesitantly, and scrambles down to ground level.

"New look on you, Ruth."

"It's one I've worn before," Ruth says. Her face lights up for Iris, and a hand reaches to go round the drummer's waist.

She came here for her, and she's going to make the most of it.

"Sometimes it has a purpose."

Iris grins, and wraps her arms around Ruth's shoulders.

She cn't help it. She likes her too damn much.

Eventually, though-- she can't taste anyone around-- she says (half into Ruth's hair): "We kinda had a town meeting."

Other things can be gleaned from context.

Oh, Iris.

Ruth's hands both snake around her waist, and Ruth's face drops to her shoulder and Ruth's mouth nibbles gently at the base of her neck. Tasting her skin and smelling her hair and - well, one probably doesn't need to taste her desires to know what she wants.

"Oh, aye?" she mutters, unsurprised. "And am I to be cast out?"

Looking for someone or not, she certainly attracts Thomas' attention. Blondes. He doesn't know why, but they'll be the death of him, he knows it. "Good morning."

"Morning,"

The voice Ruth uses when she's being "Ruth" is slightly from her "Jack" voice, though she couldn't tell you which was her 'real' voice. Mayeb they're both for show.

Her many many smiles are all-purpose however, and the one she gives Thomas is cheerful and friendly.

"Weather's fair, today."

He tilts his head for a moment, then shrugs it off. "Welcome to the Cooper farm, miss."

"Thank you."

She inclines her head briefly, and draws an ankle back for a quick curtesy.
