Looking for someone or not, she certainly attracts Thomas' attention. Blondes. He doesn't know why, but they'll be the death of him, he knows it. "Good morning."

"Morning,"

The voice Ruth uses when she's being "Ruth" is slightly from her "Jack" voice, though she couldn't tell you which was her 'real' voice. Mayeb they're both for show.

Her many many smiles are all-purpose however, and the one she gives Thomas is cheerful and friendly.

"Weather's fair, today."

He tilts his head for a moment, then shrugs it off. "Welcome to the Cooper farm, miss."

"Thank you."

She inclines her head briefly, and draws an ankle back for a quick curtesy.

[transbender]

"I'm Thomas." He offers her his hand. "You have to fight through a lot to get here?"

[ineveryport]

Ruth's hand is calloused and lightly scarred - a working woman's hand, not a lady's - as she takes Thomas' hand and shakes it briefly.

"Not much. I picked my roads."

[transbender]

"Ah, good to hear. A lot of people aren't so lucky." He runs a hand through his hair, grinning slightly. "Anything I can do to help you out?"

"Not, I think," Ruth says, apparently content with her lot. "What were you offering?"

[transbender]

And somehow, despite the oddness of his body these days, Thomas manages to blush. "Ah, just, y'know, whatever."

[ineveryport]

Oh. Right.

Ruth's smile is almost apologetic.

"Girls only, Thomas."

[transbender]

On hand raises, and his mouth opens... and then he just shrugs it off. "Wasn't quite, uh..." Thomas closes his eyes in embaressment. "Man, I just shouldn't speak, right?"

"Mayhap I read it wrong."

Very unlikely.

"No harm or insult."

[transbender]

"Wow, how about this weather, huh?" Good job Thomas, a brilliant change of subject, she'll never see through the ruse!

She grins, clearly amused.

"The weather is fine, is it not?"

[transbender]

"Much better then that heavy snow we had." He gestures down the road. "So, I'm uh, gonna just mosey on by before I die from embaressment, kay?"
