A couple people made it clear that not everyone who was reading Absinthe had been keeping up with my LJ - and thus wasn't aware of all the crazy shit that's gone on the past two years that's made Absinthe's hiatus a lot longer than originally planned

I didn't realize you had a defined end point to Rita. I'm really surprised it's going to be short enough to finish within a year! Well, I look forward to it.

Yep! I've known how it was going to end since shortly after I came up with its format. I haven't figured out entirely how I'll weave my four plotlines to all hit that place at once, but I'll manage.

My estimate is about 120-150 pages. It's about the same length as my estimate for Absinthe, as it turns out, although a printed book will probably be about twice as thick because each page of Rita is going to be a full spread on paper.

I saw a Chronicle book printed in China with stab binding at the book shop today, so it can be done mass market!

I'll save that for if I actually get someone else interested in publishing it. For now it's just gonna be Lulu or some other POD.

I'm really glad to hear that Absinthe is coming back! Glad because it shows you're feeling better, and just plain glad that I'll get to read more of it!
