But if, objectively speaking, your bike is so shit that it would never get stolen, think again. Different city = different rules.
Maybe the guy was a bike thief on the prowl for a decent bike to nick, and had seen a better one round the corner and couldn't be bothered with yours, but wanted to teach you a lesson. I dunno.
It worked didn't it? You took his advice, didn't you? Of course, you may not have had the money. That would make the note-leaver a right ass.

I'm still just floored about why someone would go to all that trouble to "teach a lesson" to someone they don't even know. It makes absolutely no sense to me... oh well... I'd just be inclined to think there'd be a better way to go about promoting bicycle security than vandalism, but apparently, I'd be wrong.
