New Due South vid: "When I'm Sixty-Four"

Sep 19, 2006 21:50

I am slightly hesitant to post this new vid, as I'm basically very unhappy with the way it's turned out. In fact there's only about one scene at the very end that I'm quite pleased with. I'll give you a clue, it's a clip from asylum, with Ray. This clip is the only reason I'm posting this vid at all:) The premise of the vid is sort of from COTW ( Read more... )

That vid is kinda BRILLIANT. I particularly adore the non sequitur moments, like "who could ask for more?"

Great job, as always.

Thank you kindly. Right up to posting it I kept thinking there was something that wasn't working with it, so your comments are very surprising, but most welcome:)

HaHa! (I'm laughing a lot today in comments to you...) I love it! It's so original and tongue in cheek XD

Do you use Windows Movie Maker to make your vids, or something else. I'm just trying to work out how on earth you did those clip within clip parts....

Thank you. I think I'll try posting it to ds_music_videos now that your comments have given me a bit of confidence*G*

I've never tried making any with the Movie Maker, I have it on my laptop but figured it wouldn't be able to cope with making vids. I'm using videostudio 10 plus. I'm not sure if I can recommend it though as the program corrupted itself, bits are missing, so I need to re-install it to be able to do all the things I need to.

That was great! Such cute moments, and some funny RayK scenes (even if the horrible hair interview scares me a little).

Thank you for your kind comments. That interview hair scared me as well. I hope it was for a role because otherwise... You sometimes wonder if they look at themselves in a mirror before undertaking these interviews:)

Hey, Sharon! Don't be disappointed! It's sweet and funny, and I'm telling you, that moment where Volpe gooses RayK in the alley (Ooh!) is worth the price of admission!!!! I'm still laughing!

I thought the clips of Johnny and of Callum-with-bad-hair from the interview were likewise inspired! (He just turned 46, by the way. Which is interesting...the anagram--if that's what it's called?--of 64.) I loved Fraser up the pole on the phone from BDtH, apparently talking to RayK on the phone from CoTW. So cute!

I loved the whole thing. Especially since, although the lyrics are all about being 64, all of the clips of Ray K (and Fraser) are of their young, strong, beautiful selves.

Finally, I loved the change to "Life for Rent"--that's all it needed. I have played that vid (the original release, actually) so many times since I downloaded it, because it's just so perfect with the RayK. angst...and hope. It's inspiring and lovely. :)

Bottom line: YOU GIVE GOOD RAY! Therefore I love you!

Hugs!!!

That's my favourite clip in the entire vid. In fact it's the only reason I decided to post it:)

Well, they came out of necessity, I couldn't find any clips with Ray fixing things and with the interview, I figured I couldn't use all young clips and I didn't fancy waiting around for 18 yrs until he reached the right age*G*

Thank you. I'd actually been backing some of my vids onto CD and when I was playing it back the end clip just shot off the screen rather quickly which rather surprised me; when I'm playing it in my player on the computer it stays on the last image. So I figured I'd change it, it took me quite a while though, I had all sorts of stuff happening on the last image and then finally I just decided on the simple approach:)

because it's just so perfect with the RayK. angst...and hope.So have ( ... )

On my computer, that last clip has always shot off the screen quickly, just as you describe. Now it stays on the last image. So it's just right.

So have you been writing lots of Ray angst then?*G*

Oh, um...I don't know, really. I certainly have been writing lots of RayK. I just don't know how angsty it is at the moment. I'm probably too close to it to evaluate it. I am working on my first story for getfraserlaid and hope to finish it soon. There's some Fraser angst in that one. Ray has his moments, but it's all in Fraser's POV, so I wouldn't call it Ray angst. After that I have a second piece which should not be angsty at all. I can't make Ace Leary fic angsty, nor would I want to ( ... )

I thought that was finished, shows how much I know:)

I look forward to reading them all when they get posted*G* I'm busy working on another angsty vid. I however, seem to be having more angst about making the vid than the characters do in it, which doesn't seem fair:)

I guess I'm hedging because I don't write dark stories.

I don't like reading them either:-)

Eventually all this stuff will get posted. *sigh*

Well that's good, plenty for me to read then*G*
