awww thank you very much. It means alot that people think I have written these characters as they are. i don't want them to feel like different people - well, not too much anyway, cuz there are certain things they ahve done - mainly ALL of last season ;) - that made me feel as if I don't recognize them anymore. But the gist of their personalities - its very important for me to capture who they are and how they react, think, feel, talk. Thanks for reading!

thanks. I love Diane's stuff too but I am nowhere NEAR as great of a writer as she. ;) I think my idea of Derek's mom is a little different than the interpretations of her I've read so far in fanfic. Since she has 4 girls (and all those granddaughters ;)), I tend to think of her more like my mother, and my best friend's mother - very girly, very foot-in-mouth, very nosey, very Mommy-Manipulative. In my mind Derek comes from a family of five women (mom, 4 sisters) who are very close and tell each other EVERYTHING and he has always felt like an outsider, always felt a little bit on the fringes - and thats why he and Mark were so close, that's why Mark's betrayal still hurts him so much, that's why he can relate so well to Meredith.
