Another black and white classic, although certainly weaker than the first film it's still quite enjoyable. It's such fun to see Terry Thomas playing a cad!

One thing the film does have going for it though is the St. Trinians School Song. All together now ladies:

The Train Robbery was on the telly yesterday, which has to be the worst. All about the staff, hardly any girls.

I have The Song as my general ringtone, I got some very funny looks when it went off in the Imperial War Museum on Saturday.

That would be quite tempting... except I've seen the chaos caused by three geeks in the same meeting all having the Imperial March as their ring tone. :)

How marvellous! Might I ask which songbook that is? Or is it in one of the original St. Trinians novels?

The St Trinian’s Story” by Kaye Webb (who was married to Ronald Searle), a Penguin book published in 1959. Contains a selection of cartoons, together with some history, and writings and songs. Also has the Flanders and Swann song about St Trinian’s, and one by Johnny Dankworth.

I wonder if drawing of swords obeys the same rules as drawing of pistols (you're better off reacting than acting!)

Hmm... I suspect that variation in things like reach and stride would cancel out any underlying faster reaction just because the action is far larger than that for drawing a gun.

What we need are a pair of equally-skilled identical twins to test this one out.
