Movie #7: The Belles of St. Trinians

What a classic! There's this little part of me that rather likes the idea of holding an SCA Feast of St. Trinian... but fortunately for the insurance policy most of me is a little more sensible than that. :)

Excellent! It's no longer my fault but I can come along and enjoy the fun. :)

I feel a great affinity for the Old Girls.

Very much so. The very idea of the merest hint of thinking about the female members of the Illustrious committee hadn't even considered starting to ponder stirring itself with a view to crossing my mind as I watched the end of that film...

I'm sure they'd love it! You can never have too many wenches can you?

I thought the re-make was a mistake and refused to see it.

The '50s original involved the 4th-form distilling boot-leg gin in the Chem-lab, then using Flash 'Arry as fence so they'd have enough dosh to buy black market sweeties. They exploited an adult vice to circumvent an adult-imposed barrier to a child-hood vice. This appealed to me greatly, having recently moved up to long-trouser-school, and noticed quite a few masters nip into the bookie's/tobacconist's in the street, about the time two or three of the original "Trinian's" films were aired on recurrent weekdays by one of the broadcasters.

From what I'd heard the page-3 girls masquerading as actresses appearing in the recent re-make would have drunk the gin themselves in-between lugs on a spliff being passed around.

I've no idea - I haven't seen the remake either but have all of the originals on DVD.
