While watching this I realised that at times he really does look like a cuddly version of Shere Khan. It's the eyes, I think.

I shall work on it. Many moons ago, when playing an RPG set in the HH universe, I had a treecat called Tigger, hence the song.

Maybe, but the usual crash and burn finish only really happens on diving boards with tennis balls.

Very true. I notice that Tigger didn't have a diving board so he was probably improvising.
