So. After months of nothing but just knowing that they're filming, they've now arrived at Pierrefonds and we're getting tiny little glimpses of not much, but still... Enough to angst about, right

I'm mostly curious about how they'll handle Mordred's character. If he is just the next "bad guy pretending to be a good guy so he can spy on Arthur and then betray him in a shocking twist in the series finale" I'm going to throw something heavy.
Okay, so the next bit is just my insane speculation: Mordred comes to Camelot, wins Arthur's trust and becomes a knight. Merlin doesn't trust him and Mordred spends most of the time messing with Merlin's head (mostly pointing out how, after all this time, Arthur still doesn't value Merlin's opinion) trying to drive him away from Arthur and Camelot so that his evil plot may succeed. BUT! Mordred sees that Arthur is actually a good king and a good person, so he starts to rethink his life's choices. Merlin won't give him a second chance though, believing that Mordred is irredeemably evil, and in the end Mordred becomes exactly that.
I heard a comment from twitter that a production member had said there was an unexpected development that Merthur fans won't like. Hearing that teamed with this gossip about a gallows, makes me wonder if Merlin may be the intended victim. Maybe Arthur has found out about Merlin's magic and it is an extreme reaction fuelled by betrayal. Having said this, I seriously hope this is not the case, because it wouldn't say much for the friendship and trust they have and the past they have shared.
oh please the writers dont care about consistency how many times has merlin been proven right yet every timeanew problem arises arthur still does not believe him.
I'm wondering if we'll see Merlin sitting at the round table too? Like in 3.13, or if it'll just be knights at the table and Merlin in the background like always. From the pictures some fans took of the table it looks quite large and has a lot of seats, so it can't just be for the 5 knights Arthur always has with him. Probably just wishful thinking though. I doubt the writers have actually made Merlin some sort of advisor for Arthur during the time jump, it seems like he'll always just be a servant. :(
