So. After months of nothing but just knowing that they're filming, they've now arrived at Pierrefonds and we're getting tiny little glimpses of not much, but still... Enough to angst about, right
( Read more... )
I'm agonizing over the gallow that's mentioned, because it reminds me of Merlin's introduction to Camelot, when Uther commanded an execution. I thought the whole 'his father's son' bit was dealt with in series 4, and nicely too. I don't want Arthur to be ruthless like his father, however reluctant. And what role would Merlin have in this? He clearly didn't succeed in talking him out of it, seeing as the gallow at least is happening. Would that mean more Arthur neglecting Merlin's advice?
I was wondering that too! The round table has no business in the great hall. There is that room where strategic talks between the king and his men take place; back when Uther was still king and in the latest series. You know, the room that Merlin walks into when he claims he has magic to safe Gwen. The room where he pulls Arthur's pants down. Excellent room for a round table. My mind just took a rather predictable turn I'm afraid.
LOL on the pants thing. It's just that if they are going to use it a lot, then I would have thought it better in one of the other set rooms. Plus that's where they have all the treaty/announcements, etc so having a big table in the middle of it didn't make sense.
I'd thought about the second thing, how the great hall was used for things that don't go well with having a big table set in the middle of the room. Hadn't thought of the first point, which is even a better one I'd say! Maybe they'll have both. Have the table set up in the great hall (Pierrefonds) at first and then move to another room (Cardiff studios) later. It's not the table as it's introduced to us earlier, so I assume Arthur just thought it was a good idea but rather than have the great lump of stone dragged to the castle put a carpenter to work and fix him a new one. Maybe it's just being presented to Arthur in the great hall.
Oh, me too. I'm usually angsting over all the wrong things! Things I worry about turn out all right and things I'm looking forward to are often messed up. There's no way around that bloody gallow though and I want to know what it means!! Why it's there, who is to be executed and why, what role Arthur has in it etc.
who is to be executed and why Yeah...and why is Gwen wearing a black dress? Is it dead someone akin to her? With all those speculation about a bassinett i have the craziest 'what if' thought. LOL
I thought the speculation about a bassinett was wrong, that it wasn't a bassinett after all? I really can't think of a reason for Gwen to wear black though. It's something to do when a close relative has died, and she only has Elyan now. They wouldn't kill him off, would they? Or maybe they think Arthur is dead and the gallow is for a possible kingslayer?
Also, I want to know what Morgana is wearing. Haven't heard yet about it. If she's wearing something beautiful, that would mean that she's found a way to gain wealth and power somewhere outside Camelot (cough*Lot*cough). If it's a raggity thing, then she's still in a hovel in the woods.

Or more of Merlin not telling Arthur everything. Ever since 3.13, I've been annoyed at how little Merlin and Gaius choose to tell Arthur.

Also why did they put the round table in the great hall? I would have thought they'd have put it in one of the sets back in Wales.
