Hey girls!

Thought I'd join as well, because I really need some support. I have been out of shape in the last 8 months - study, moving, but most of all laziness. I am 32, 5'9, current weight is 181 lb. I have been doing juice fasting for 4 years now having acquired my 30-days programme from the Fasting Centre in the US. It seems the only diet that works for ( Read more... )

I'm not sure it's healthfully possible to drop that much weight in one month! I went from 180 lbs. to 160 in a YEAR. I took it at my own pace being in school and working full-time, but I've managed to keep it off for good. I hit a plateau, but I recently started the Body-for-Life program and broke it and lost 3 more lbs ( ... )

Oh, I see. It seems your energy is still up which is good. But is it fasting for a whole month? I guess I'm not used to the idea of fasting for that long. I've done a 2-3 day type thing to detox my system as well...

Yes, I know, if is quite unusual. I am a bit more used to the idea as I am from Russia and it has been quite popular part of healthy life style over there for years. But I must admit that when I tried it first time I was so surprised that I wasn't loosing my energy. Although if you think about it logically, juices are quite high in calories - so once you followed correct procedures to enter the fast then there should be no problem. If you are interested you may have a look at the site of the Juice Fasting International where I got my program from - www.fasting.com. They explain it better on their site. Water fasting is quite different, it takes more preparation and I imagine, would not allow one to excercise hard due to the lack of energy. I have also done short periods of water fast - 1-2 days at a time. Have been thinking of making it regular - have 1 day a week a water fasting - but never got around to it. Well, it is not over yet, I may still do it one day.
