In which Haven introduces Drina, Damen’s redhead ex, and we are told she must be evil. A psychic offers to help Ever with her powers and she tells her to get bent. ( Hey, does anybody knows the lyrics to the nagging song? )
Oh, man, Drina's a redhead? Now she reminds me of Victoria, another despised female character. At first I thought that Drina was just another silly name that Noel made up, but I looked on Behindthename.com and it turns out that Drina is actually a rare nickname for Adriana. *shrugs

This is the chapter that had me giving up on Ever as a character in a mind-numbing, hair-tearing frustration. Ev, sweetie, all you have done since Page 1 is bitch about your sudden onslaught of powers and how they make it impossible for you to lead a normal life. And when an adult who shares your abilities offers to teach you how to control your powers, you give her attitude and blow her off? You MORON.
/That’s like whining about how your orange tree never gives you apples./
I agree, it would make sense if Ever was suspicious. I can see how her powers would make her naturally suspicious of everyone, what with the mind-reading and people's tendency to think one thing and say another. Which could actually be a good bit of character development...if Ever was a well-rounded character. I could also understand her jumping at the chance to get some control, even if it means trusting a complete stranger. (Actually, that could be interesting, especially if it bit her back later.) But her powers are supposed to be a torment, so one way or another she should want to get help

"Why must exes be evil? I’m an ex, I have exes, and we are not evil. "
That sounds like a great premise for a story - the Legion of Exes, made up of exes who are sick and tired of being constantly demonized in real life and media and provide each other with coffee and support.
