Face to Face: an analysis of Michael Jackson's face through the years, version 2.0. Part 2

Jun 14, 2011 15:52

Last year, I did an analysis of Michael Jackson’s face to give my opinion on the ‘countless plastic surgeries’ Michael ‘had’ over the years. Some of my information was a bit off and I had some organization problems with the images. Now, a year later, I’m reposting it with better information, better organization, and many more pictures for all to ( Read more... )

i'm sorry, but i don't see it. history era looks like a natural progression from dangerous and even bad. but when 2000, 2001 rolls around, something very noticeable has changed. the space between his nose and mouth (what is that called?) gets much wider and the shape of his mouth changes. in the yrmw video and the 30th anniversary concert, he looks like he can barely move his mouth.

his overall facial structure remains the same, for sure, but i don't see how you can go from the botdf video to the yrmw video and say he looks the same.

^ THIS.

I always thought I was the only one who felt this way. Glad to know I'm not. Makes me feel like I'm not the horrible person some people have called me for thinking that way.

I would also like to add that around 2000/2001, his nose became very upturned. This is most obvious during the CD signing at the NYC Virgin Megastore signing.

EDIT: See what I mean in the Invincible era pic posted where it's MJ's profile and he's holding a picture from the Bad tour.

Then during the This is It era, the upturned nose was no longer. I personally think he looked GREAT during This is It.

But he always looked great.

"I always thought I was the only one who felt this way. Glad to know I'm not. Makes me feel like I'm not the horrible person some people have called me for thinking that way."

Word. It would really irk me when I couldn't express my opinion that he had more surgeries than some overly protective fans claim or what Mike said himself, without my logic or "loyalty" being attacked.

- let me get a little OT & tl;dr -
It's pretty obvious that more procedures had been done, than what he let on. He didn't have to give us a list, anyway. I just don't get why some fans get so angry with an innocent disagreement. It's not as if we're passing judgement. It's simply an observation. He could do whatever the fck he well pleased with his face. He was fine as hell and will always be to me. I don't have to know why he did what he did with his face or understand it or approve of it because it was, well, HIS FACE. That would be bullshit.

But, back to the subject, I'm glad that this is a place where we can calmly disagree/agree on such things.

I had to echo this. Indeed, it's relieving.

I feel the same way as you guys! The minute I start talking about this to a lot of fans, I get shut down and told off.

I want to put some information forward that was circulating a lot a few years ago, but I don't know the exact source:

During the Invincible era, there was a botched surgery that led to Michael's "frozen lip" and inability to smile without being in pain around this time. I'll quote from another fanboard -

"around 2001 a doctor struck a nerve near his mouth which is why his smile was affected and it looked painful for him to smile/laugh at times between 2001-early 2004."

He also suffered from a flare up of his lupus around this time, which is why he looked a little "dazed" in the eyes and kind of bloated. I can go into more detail about that because, surprisingly, the Rabbi's book is pretty accurate to what was going on around then. But only if you guys feel comfortable about it and don't think it's crossing the line.

I would be interested in any facts you have. It seems this topic is usually a mix of guesswork and denial, otherwise. I always assumed the lip thing was a badly administered Botox (same with his upper lids seeming "heavy" (the dazed look?) during that time, which is a possible side effect of injecting Botox in the forehead, or so I've heard).

The dazed look and any bloating was definitely down to the lupus flair up. I've never heard a single account of Michael having botox, and honestly, I don't think he ever had any. Look at the skin of the rest of his siblings; everybody has aged pretty well, I think their genes have led to that. Well, except Joseph, haha!

This could be... indeed, they have aged well. I've heard botox here and there a lot, but as a fans' opinion only.
