Thesis

I have decided that i hate doing a thesis.  It sucks ass...Royally!  I'm trying to make heads or tails of the information in front of me.  Trying to decipher what I need to pull out and what I can ignore.  Plus I've pulled secondary research and haven't really had a chance to go over it yet.  Dr. Wells wants to meet this afternoon to go over what I ( Read more... )

ah...I know how that is. When I was getting my degree I would start my research the first week of classes...by the time it came to writing my research paper I had so much research printed out, highlighted, xeroxed...ect that it was overwhelming. More than one I was told it wasn't a thesis or disertation..LOL. I still have it all. That is the scary part. I'll put it this way, my Virginia Woolf research has charts I created...CHARTS! One chart is of her major breakdowns and what the symptoms were for each one, another chart charting when she began writing a work and when it was published on one side while the other shows the times of her hospitalizations and smaller breakdowns. It's scary...very scary. So, I understand...I had to have it all printed out too! Though I think the scariest part is I still have it all!

As strange as it is, you make me feel so much better! (glomp) I'm not alone! Mel was telling me earlier that you are really good at papers, and I can seriously understand why. But wow...charts! That's really delving in. You sure you shouldn't have gone for your master's or doctorate and done a Thesis?

I don't thrown stuff away. I had my aunt get me a filing cabinet for Christmas just so I could organize everything I had under my coffee table. I know - strange place to keep everything, but hey, it worked.
I need to carry a second backpack just for my thesis stuff. It's getting rather extensive.

LOL...the plan was to get my PhD...but the college in my town didn't offer graduate degrees in English...the closest one is almost 2 hours away and that was when gas started to sky rocket. *runs off to cry* I wanted to teach college.

*hugs*

I understand the distance thing. I go to school an hour from where I live - we're putting 600 miles a week on our van. ugh...so trying to get a better economical car.
