Oh Noes!

Shit. I'm going to be in Ireland during the final episode of American's Next Top Model! I have a feeling I'm really going to have to restrain myself from looking online to see who won while I'm there. Marion, can we watch the episode at your apartment when we get back ( Read more... )

would you and kaite possibly be interested in an excursion maybe to cavan? not sure what is up yet...

as for antm...yes, of course we can (as i'll be dying to see who won!), but i have no cable and no vcr...we'll have to track it down online...which is what i usually do anyway...

I'm up for anything as long as we have time for it. Maybe we can go there rather than taking a flight somewhere else. It was definitely be cheaper and easier to plan and I wouldn't mind seeing the Irish countryside. It's up to you and Kaite though which you would rather do.

I can offer some suggestions on places to go as well, if you want to get together. We have an Ireland book which you can borrow if you are interested, it's a few years old, but most things don't really change. We went to Dublin last year for a few days and we've taken two other previous trips to Ireland as well in the last 6 years, one focusing on the Southwest and the other hitting Dublin, Galway, Cork, Doolin, etc. I've had great luck getting travel guides from the library and just using those, so you might want to consider that. We do that every year and it's a nice way to compare books and then bring the one that's the best.

I'd definitely like to borrow the books/talk to you. We're going to Cork and Baltimore for the fiddle festival, and I really need advice on traveling in that area (how do you normally get around? Rent a car?)

It looks like we might also go to Cavan, so it should be a nice view of the whole country. :-)

Baltimore? That's too funny! We stayed in Baltimore for a night and John and I completely fell in love with the place. It's such a cute, small town. I can't remember the name of the place we stayed at there, but I might have it written down at home. This is the list I was using to choose from: http://www.baltimore-ireland.com/yellowpages/accomm/bedbreakfasts.html... )

Well, the concert is in Baltimore, so that's why we're going there. The festival is in this hotel, so I think we will just stay there (so we can get any late-night music action). It does look like a beautiful town though! If there are things we should check out while there I'd love to know.

In terms of Cork, we're basically trying to figure out the best way to travel to Baltimore, and that seems to be by going to Cork and then taking a bus or renting a car at that point. I doubt we will have much access to side trips since we want to avoid renting a car, if possible. We might have some time in Cork proper though.

Thanks for the info so far!
