I don't think so. The tone was different (if spam can be said to have a tone!) - instead of a bunch of garbled bullcrap, it was a very simple and straightforward ad (which still got deleted, and the spammer banned).

I had to disable anonymous comments on my LJ years ago. This week I've gotten a couple spam comments on entries I wrote in communities years upon years ago. What is even the point of leaving spam comments there? Nobody is looking at these entries from 2006, spambot!!

The spambot has hit some of my old entries from like 2003. SERIOUSLY SPAMBOT??? I don't even know.

How do you like Dreamwidth? I am kind of surprised at myself, I copied all my entries over there and everything but I seriously haven't explored it yet at all.

UGH SPAM. I've just done the same as you and banned anon comments, after the 759th garbled ad for discounted ugg boots/online casino/canadian pharmacy/penis fabuliser/etc. etc. etc. ... What's weird is how most of them appeared on the same 2 or 3 entries. No idea why!!
