Jujyfruits Say No To Drugs

Dear Red Cross: I will donate to help the people of Chile when I get paid. But I'm not getting paid for several more days, and when I do, I have some First World problems to take care of, viz. my car and credit card payment. After that, we'll see; I'm sure I can scrape something up for you. Love, l33 ( Read more... )

I celebrated Pancake Day, too. For us it was on the 16th of February, though, not sure when you had yours. I did not observe any free pancakes, but I did make my own. There were pancakes aplenty.

On second thought, maybe yours is on a different day because your pancakes are what we call "American pancakes" as in "small and thick". And you call ours "crépes", maybe because we all look French to you? Pancakes is more a main course or a dessert to us Danes.

I served mine with nutella, vanilla ice cream, two types of jam/marmelade, sugar, and both light and dark syrup.

It was good.

Yay! Pancake Day rules! :D Our Pancake Day was, I think, on the 22nd or 23rd, so ran slightly behind yours.

"Crepes", in the US, can often refer to any larger, thinner pancake; for us, American pancakes are typically a main course for breakfast (delicious with grease, preferably in the form of bacon or sausage and eggs and hash browns, a kind of shredded potato dish. Perhaps hash browns are analogous to Swedish rosti, if you are familiar with those?).

However, anything with nutella and vanilla ice cream is A-OK in my book. If I ever have a restaurant, I am totally going to have a Pancake and Waffle Bar. :9
