I can’t seem to wrap my head around writing these days. The last few months have been so action-packed I kind of gave up halfway through at anything even resembling a chronicle of my life. I mean, usually I at least keep a running commentary going on in my head - formatted and journal-style and everything - it keeps me quite entertained. These days ( Read more... )

Did you pre-plan to visit this cave or just stumble upon it? It sounds really fun and reminds me of hiking the slot canyon near Goblin Valley this summer and hiding from thunderstorms and flash floods. I want to drive through the Midwest too; it sounds lovely and all the better for the fact that many people don't appreciate it.

I saw it on a map in the middle of my very spontaneous traveling and figured I would take a look if I happened to end up there. And I did happen to, but since the whole thing was so very unplanned it still felt like stumbling upon it. Especially because the whole area was so abandoned.

I would be scared hiding from flash floods, personally...maybe we'll all get the opportunity to do that in the Grand Canyon this spring?
