Finally!  A president America can be proud of!

I don't know why, but whenever I look at or hear Obama, I feel an overpowering current of hope race through me.  He may not be the messiah, but I honestly believe he can and will make the changes this country needs, and help make the world a brighter place.  I'm really, really glad he got elected.  He ( Read more... )

I was going to post something like this but...I'm going to do so anyway. I just wanted to say that man today has been a historical day that will be in the annals of History.

The first black president of the United States! I breathed a sigh of relief.

Former President Bush went back to his home in Texas and I heard that the President of Brazil invited him to a fishing trip! Ain't that great? :D

... I say "DO let the door hit you."

I wish I was American today and could join in the festivities. My affection for Obama probably constitutes as a celebrity crush -_-'

Why, would you wanna be American? Besides wanting to join the celebrations! :D

I think being a Kiwi or an Aussie is cool, shame my mother didn't give birth to me in a country like those. I could have had dual citizenship if she came back to NYC.

I noticed something about the Kiwi flag, you have a miniature British flag on the upper left hand corner of it. The same for the Aussie flag.

I know this isn't addressed to me, but I couldn't help replying all the same.

Being an American in itself isn't a bad or shameful thing: it's just a little embarrassing when you get a clown in the White House and the bigwig politicians are making stupid choices. I have a certain affection and pride for my country, in spite of its shortcomings, and remain optimistic for the future. I believe the U.S. was great once, and we can be great again. If only people would stop voting Republican! Seriously, we've been trying their ideas for years now, and they simply don't work. Not that all Democrats are good or office-worthy, but damn, the Republicans have us beat three times over with bad or non-existent planning, faulty thinking, oversight, and flawed policies.

I know, Shady. I'm glad being an American I got a blue passport like any American and I got this keychain I got down in D.C.

We can be great again, we got to revamp this country, we shouldn't rely on military might alone we need some diplomacy in our rhetoric instead of bomb this and bomb that, they got WMD. Like Bush has for the past 8 years.

I always thought the democrats are the good guys and Republicans the bad guys but this governor from Illinois got impeached for trying to sell our President's vacant senate seat and he's a Democrat.

NY senate seat was given to this lady from upstate who's a conservative democrat and I think probably a closeted Republican.
