Yeah, Sony is really good about making people work to give them money. It makes the mind boggle. Matt Iseman from Clean House was having an issue with PSN last night too.
According to a friend of mine who is a sysadmin for a San Jose tech company (so...she's the tech support to the tech-geeks), there was some sort of major problem on the internet yesterday.
I don't know if it's still affecting them, but Sony and Anonymous were no-holds-barred battling for a while earlier in the month. Sony kept saying that their network was down for regularly-scheduled maintenance, but it was actually because Anonymous managed to bring down playstation.com. Perhaps it was another attack.
As someone who owns all of the major consoles, I can tell you that Sony has the best hardware but the worst software/user interface. It really makes me wish that Apple would become the next big player in gaming so that Microsoft and Sony would have to work together to compete. A Playstation with a streamlined, user-friendly interface (or an Xbox console that doesn't have a 1-in-3 failure rate) would really be incredible.
