quish took me to her range today and taught me how to shoot. She showed me her .22 and her 9mm and this old guy at the range loaned me his Colt .22 revolver for a few shots. It was...umm...awesome. When first I read this title, I was a bit bleary-eyed and saw "I now have a shot gun."

That was much scarier.

A friend took me shooting a couple of years ago. In addition to "normal" handguns, I got to fire assault rifles and a .357 magnum.

Growing up under NYC's Sullivan laws made for zero gun experience prior to then.

And...it was cool. It was very, very, very cool, in that way that scary things sometimes are.

Now that I live in a state with liberal gun ownership, I am tempted to go down to the local range and try again. I would hope they have guns a person can rent/try out. I don't want to own one.
