last time i was on antibiotics, that happened to me at about 75% of the way through the treatment. it was remarkably unpleasant. i missed a dose each of the last two days and wasn't *quite* as sick.

Shaughn picked up an OTC bottle of Emetrol to help with the not-vomiting.

Actually, I recommend you stops taking the damned penicillin immediately.

It's a PREVENTATIVE in this sort of application, to keep you from getting an infection, not because you have one, which is the only thing penicillin is good for. And I'd bet all this vomiting is hindering the healing process, not helping it.

So yeah. Stop taking the antibiotic, you dont really *need* it and this reaction is hurting more than helping. Also, call your idiot MD's receptionist back, and tell her you have been vomiting for days and that you need to see the MD ASAP. No further information. You could also be reaction to whatever anesthetic they gave you.

Besides, being sick this long could mess up other stuff (I ended up with a yeast infection in my throat from this kind of sick believe it or not).

Oh and BTW, RE: your BC pills?

Antibiotics, PARTICULARLY penicillin impair their functionality anyway. So play extra safe until you're off the stuff for a full 24 hours.

Don't worry about that part anyway. My mom always warned me about mixing antibiotics and the Pill--that's how I got here. Plus, vomiting and sexy don't really go hand in hand.

But still, I appreciate the heads up anyway. Cause there are lots of people who don't know.

Yeah I know, but as you mentioned, it's one of those little things a lot of MDs dont think to tell folks, so I try to remember to pass that tidbit on to as many of my female friends as it comes up with, just in case.

(And yeah, if my hubby approached me while I felt as miserable as you sound, he's be more likely to get belted than get off!)

Perhaps have Shaughn pick you up some bacteria pills at the Living Earth? They might off-set your GI issues a bit.

While both receptionists have shafted you somewhat, the first one's response makes me much angrier than the second one's.
