Yesterday was my Momma's birthday! 10-10-10! \o/

Got to fiddle with the circuit breaker this morning, which I always enjoy doing because I can pretend I'm Ellie from Jurassic Park. Can I turn the power back on before a raptor/cat bites me?

Looks like the musical Jersey Boys is coming to the big screen. Though now whenever I think of Frankie Valli ( Read more... )

I'm totally watching TVD *raises hands* I just watched the last two episodes. My girlfriend and me, we're quite smitten with the whole thing.

::high-fives:: At first, I thought TVD was just okay, but somewhere along the way it turned AMAZING. It's just sad that according to the Nielson ratings, less than 3.5 million people watch it (though DVR and online viewing may bring it up a bit)! I mean, that's a lot for the CW, so the show's not going anywhere, but so many people are missing out!

TVD is a sort of guilty pleasure to me, except I have to say I'm really invested in it and really love the characters. Love Damon&Stefan, love Elena&Stefan, love Elena, love Stefan, love Caroline, love Alaric. Well, you get the picture.

I quite enjoy how the women in the show are portrayed in such a kick-ass way; they're not the simpering little damsels in distress we're often used to see and it's so refreshing! Also, Elena and Stefan talk to each other and take decisions together, which is also something new! And let's not talk about Stephen and Damon who're so deliciously codependent! And Kathryn! So wonderfully twisted and clever and twisted (yes, again lol). Just love it all :-)

It's kinda sad how surprising it is when a couple actually communicates and plans together and doesn't let petty things break them apart. Who knew there'd be a mature relationship on a show with vampires/witches/werewolves and airing on the CW, of all places! ;-)

I have this serious mental block about "Jersey Boys" and am always confusing it with that thing with Snooki. Thank you for clarifying.

Any chance YOU understood any of the Spanish in the last two Dexter episodes that seems pretty significant to what's going on. Yeah, I could re-learn it, but me too busy.

::laughs!:: I've never actually seen Jersey Shore.

I think all the important lines in this episode were was translated by someone. In the scene with the informant that ended up getting decapitated, Cira repeated everything he said for Deb (I'm not very fluent anymore, but her translation seemed pretty accurate to me), except for his last few lines when he asked Cira if her name was Manzon, and she said yes and gave him her first name. But I didn't catch his next line, which sounded like an admonishment of some kind, then Deb complained about not translating.

In last week's episode, the only Spanish I remember was Deb's mispronunciation, and Angel translated her mistake.

The only thing that's bothering me a bit is that Santa Muerte is a Mexican tradition, and this was supposed to be a Venezuelan neighborhood.

Also, Boyd & Dexter's hospital stare-down was hilarious!

You always bring excellent links. I'm sad about KCET! We don't get that other station out here; we have a local, which barely carries all the programming. Alas.

Also, I thought Rubicon was already renewed? But possibly I'm just delusional and imagined all that in a fit of wishful thinking. *g* I love that show!

I wonder what KCET is planning to replace all their PBS programming with. ::shakes head & sighs:: Other than KOCE (which is based in Orange County), there's also KLCS based in the LAUSD, and KVCR for San Bernardino (which I don't have, boo). I really hope PBS doesn't punish us L.A. viewers for KCET's silliness.

I hope Rubicon has been renewed! I know the showrunner has spoken about wanting more self-contained plots in a second season, but I didn't know if he'd got the official go-ahead yet. They better! I want Kale Ingram on my TV for now and always! And maybe someday Will will get better at doing things on the down-low.

Ooooh, Speirs. *admires icon* Yes, KVCR is our local. You're not missing much. They, um, let's charitably say they skip first-run broadcasts of PBS mainstays, sometimes. They're a bit inconsistent.

SO WITH YOU on Kale. I think he's my favorite character on TV right now.

KCET is dropping its PBS affiliation at the end of the year

SAYWUT? KCET won't be KCET without PBS! I watched Sesame Street on KCET when I was growing up. DDDD:
