Light novels usually have illustrations. I VOLUNTEER TO DO THE ILLUSTRATING FOR YOUR LIGHT NOVEL.

In seriousness, I was a creative writing major in undergrad before I went to China and fell in love with this one dude. I also have friends who are published. What does it HONESTLY take to be a writer? Firstly, you need to be able to keep writing. That actually is one of the biggest problems that people have. They have good ideas, but they can't ever finish them.

Secondly, you need to be able to edit other people's stuff. This helps you be able to edit your own. If you know how to do that, then ignore that step.

Third thing is, how do you want to be published? Some people go the route of submitting stories over and over again to places that have short story anthologies. They don't care what the publishing company is, they just care that it's published. I personally wouldn't go that route only because if the company is really small, and their team puts together books that look crappy, no one is going to read them. So if you want to be ( ... )

That was really more of a rhetorical question than anything. I took the classes myself. S'all good, though. It just reaffirms the conclusions I came to on my own.
